Being a writer conjures up the image of an old typewriter in a smoke-filled room and a waste paper basket overflowing with draft copies of the quest for fame and fortune.

Today being a writer, is a fantastic opportunity for the majority of people willing to give it a go. Self-publishing your work on a blog or Amazon is possible, and you don’t have to be rejected by hundreds of publishers that see your manuscript.

You can create your stories, publish them to Amazon and get a monthly commission from what they sell around the world to their millions of viewers in each country.

You will end up with income from,,, all from stories and ideas that you wrote from home in your 5pm to 9pm.

Were you away from your family? No.
Did it cost you a lot of money? No.

Most people reading this website will be using a smart device or pc on an internet connection, and that is all you need to write your first novel.

You may not even write a novel. It may be a collection of poetry or a recipe book or a how-to book on building children’s toys.

There are other avenues for making money from writing. You could create a blog and write about your travels. A great example of this is my wife’s favourite site, Hawaii Admirer. This blog was created by an Australian lady Ashlee, that visits Hawaii every year and decided to write about it. Ashlee started sharing tips, photos and local secrets of her trips to Hawaii.

She proudly boasts now “I’m Ashlee, a Hawaii-loving Aussie living on Oahu”. Ashlee now gets invitations to restaurants and cruises so that she can write about it and put the reviews on her blog.
That’s a lifestyle business.

You don’t have to go to Hawaii to write your blog. Find a passion subject, do the research and start to write about it. Create a Facebook page for free and start to build an audience. When you have people asking you questions about your passion, it is time to create a website and build a passion / lifestyle business.

The more you do the bigger it will become. (5pm to 9pm)

Some passions and subjects will make more money than others, but that should not stop you from doing it.

Remember there are SIX NECESSARY CONDITIONS for total commitment. A lifestyle business can help you build self-respect, self-esteem and self-worth. Sometimes these qualities can be far more valuable than money.

There is a reason why Stephen King is one of the bestselling writers in the world, ever. Described in the Guardian as ‘the most remarkable storyteller in modern American literature’, Stephen King writes books that draw you in and are impossible to put down.

Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have.

King’s advice is grounded in the vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999 – and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.
